- You are 18 to 74 years old and had your first major depressive episode before age 50.
- Your current major depressive episode has lasted between 6 weeks and 2 years.
- You have not tried 2 or more different antidepressants for this episode that didn't help.
- You do not have bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, or a personality disorder.
- You have not had serious suicidal thoughts, plans, or self-harm in the last year.
- You have not had a drug or alcohol problem in the last 12 months.
