Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with a disorder of consciousness (vegetative state or minimally conscious state) for 3 to 12 months after a traumatic brain injury.
  • You do not have evidence of recovering from the minimally conscious state.
  • You do not have active epilepsy or major pre-existing brain or nervous system disorders.
  • You do not have a large missing piece of skull (craniectomy) without a replacement, open scalp wounds, metal implants inside your brain (except titanium), or implanted electronic devices like a pacemaker.
  • You can safely have an MRI (no non-MRI-compatible devices, metal fragments, or recent tattoos).
