Who can take part

  • You are either between 18 and 30 years old or over 60 years old.
  • You do not have a history of heart disease, stroke, cancer, or major heart or blood vessel events.
  • You have not had surgery in the last two months.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 30 or less.
  • You do not have sleep apnea, active kidney or liver disease, and you are not a tobacco smoker.
  • You do not have significant sensory, nerve, muscle, or bone problems that affect your ability to exercise.
  • You have not been very physically active (more than 1,000 MET-minutes per week) for over six months.
