Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have stage III or IV nasopharyngeal cancer (but not certain early stage IV types).
  • You cannot have had any prior treatment for this cancer (like surgery, chemo, or radiation).
  • You must have at least one tumor that can be seen on a scan and measured.
  • You must be in fairly good health, with normal blood counts, liver and kidney function, and a performance status of 0 or 1 (able to do daily activities).
  • You must not have active autoimmune diseases, uncontrolled high blood pressure, serious heart conditions, or active hepatitis B or C.
