Brain stimulation for PTSD and chronic pain in veterans

This study tests a type of brain stimulation (called accelerated neuromodulation) to see if it can help veterans who have both PTSD and chronic pain. It uses a device placed on the scalp to gently stimulate brain areas linked to these conditions, with the goal of reducing symptoms.

Who can take part

  • You must be 19 or older and a veteran with both PTSD and chronic pain.
  • Your PTSD symptoms should be at least moderate (not mild).
  • You need to be able to attend all study visits and use a personal computer for at-home questionnaires.
  • You cannot have certain metal implants in your head or neck (like plates, screws, or shrapnel).
  • You should not have had suicidal thoughts or behaviors in the past 6 months.
  • You cannot have epilepsy, a seizure history, or certain heart conditions (like recent heart attack or uncontrolled high blood pressure).
