NETosis markers for predicting blood clots in MPN

This study looks at certain markers in the blood to see if they can predict blood clots in people with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) like polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, or pre-myelofibrosis. It is only for people who have a specific JAK2 mutation and are at high risk for clots, and who are already enrolled in another trial and a biobank.

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera (PV), Essential Thrombocythemia (ET), or pre-myelofibrosis (pre-MF).
  • You have a JAK2V617F mutation with a variant allele frequency (VAF) greater than 1%.
  • You are at high risk for blood clots (either you are over 60 years old or have had a prior clot).
  • You were diagnosed with your MPN within the last 12 months.
  • You are already taking part in the AVAJAK trial and the FIMBANK biobank.
  • You do not have severe liver or kidney problems, and you are not on heparin (a blood thinner).
