Custom vs. standard jaw positioning for jaw surgery

Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a surgery called bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (a procedure to realign your lower jaw).
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have CT scans (special 3D X-rays) of your jaw both before and after surgery.
  • You agree to take part in the study.
  • You have not had any previous surgery on your lower jaw.
  • You do not have a craniofacial syndrome (a condition affecting the shape of your head or face) or a congenital deformity (present from birth).
