Who can take part

  • You have cirrhosis (scarring of the liver).
  • You have a blood clot in the portal vein (the main vein that brings blood to your liver).
  • Your liver function is Child-Pugh class A or B (mild to moderate damage).
  • You may also have liver cancer (HCC), but it is not required.
  • Your platelet count must be 10,000 or higher (not too low for clotting).
  • Your kidney function must be good (creatinine level 1.9 or lower).
