Who can take part

  • You have acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that has come back or hasn't responded well to treatment, with 5% to 20% leukemia cells in your bone marrow.
  • Your leukemia cells must have a specific marker called CD45 on their surface (checked by a lab).
  • You must be at least 18 years old and not able to handle very high-dose conditioning chemotherapy.
  • You must have a matched donor (8/8 HLA match) who is a relative or unrelated volunteer.
  • Your kidneys, liver, and heart need to be working fairly well, and you should be able to care for yourself (Karnofsky score of 70 or more).
  • You cannot have had a stem cell transplant before, and you cannot have active leukemia in the brain or spinal fluid.
