Vision test study for macular eye disorders

Dry AMDDiabetic Retinopathy (DR)

This study uses a special vision test called microperimetry to track how well the macula (the center of the retina) works in people with certain eye conditions like geographic atrophy or diabetic eye disease. Who can take part

  • You are 21 years or older.
  • You have either geographic atrophy (advanced dry age-related macular degeneration), mild to moderate diabetic retinopathy (with or without macular swelling), or you are a healthy person with no eye disease.
  • Your vision (with glasses or contacts) is between roughly 20/20 and 20/200.
  • You have not had an eye injection or laser in the study eye in the last 6 months.
  • You do not have cataracts worse than mild, glaucoma, or a history of eye strokes.
  • You can read English and are willing to come to appointments (healthy volunteers come only once).
