Who can take part
- The signal (microembolic signal or MES) must be from a solid source, like a clot or plaque
- You must be 18 years or older
- The signal must come from the middle cerebral artery (M1 segment)
- The 20-second recording must be clear and have the event marked
- No recent use of ultrasound contrast agents (like agitated saline) in the last 24 hours
- No mechanical heart valve, recent heart surgery, endovascular procedure, or severe trauma
