Ultrasound-guided nerve stimulation to improve walking after stroke

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have had a stroke (brain attack) and are in the subacute or chronic phase (not the first few days).
  • You can walk 10 meters (about 33 feet) without someone else's help.
  • You are currently doing physical therapy with standard exercises.
  • You do not have a fear of needles, an allergy to needles or metals, or uncontrolled bleeding or blood vessel problems.
  • You are not pregnant, do not have certain skin disorders, active inflammatory diseases, or cancer, and have not had invasive physiotherapy in the last 4 weeks.
