Who can take part

  • You have significant mitral regurgitation (leaking of the mitral valve) that worsens with exercise.
  • You have symptoms of heart failure (such as shortness of breath, fatigue, or fluid retention) despite being on optimal heart failure medications.
  • You have been hospitalized for heart failure in the last year or have elevated BNP/NT-proBNP levels within the last 3 months.
  • Your ejection fraction (a measure of heart pumping function) is 20% or higher.
  • You are able to walk for 6 minutes, with any limitation mainly due to heart-related issues.
