Who can take part

  • You must have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the glottis (a specific type of early vocal cord cancer).
  • Your cancer must be at an early stage (T1 or T2) with no spread to nearby lymph nodes or distant organs.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must be in relatively good health (able to do daily activities with some help if needed).
  • You must not have had prior radiation or surgery to your voice box (except for a biopsy).
  • You need to be able to attend follow-up visits and complete voice tests.
