Electric Pulse Treatment for Small Thyroid Cancers

Who can take part

  • You must have a small thyroid cancer (tumor 1.5 cm or smaller) that hasn't spread to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body.
  • You need a biopsy showing either Bethesda V or VI results (with normal calcitonin levels if Bethesda V).
  • Ultrasound must confirm the tumor is 1.5 cm or smaller and hasn't spread outside the thyroid.
  • You must have normal blood counts, blood clotting, and thyroid function tests.
  • If you are able to have children, you must use effective birth control during the study, or not be sexually active.
  • You cannot have had radiation therapy to the neck in the past.
