Who can take part
- You must have a small thyroid cancer (tumor 1.5 cm or smaller) that hasn't spread to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body.
- You need a biopsy showing either Bethesda V or VI results (with normal calcitonin levels if Bethesda V).
- Ultrasound must confirm the tumor is 1.5 cm or smaller and hasn't spread outside the thyroid.
- You must have normal blood counts, blood clotting, and thyroid function tests.
- If you are able to have children, you must use effective birth control during the study, or not be sexually active.
- You cannot have had radiation therapy to the neck in the past.
