- Weigh at least 99 pounds (45 kilograms)
- Have a body mass index between 18 and 40
- Have type 1 or type 2 diabetes with an A1c of 9% or lower
- Have had pain in both legs from diabetic nerve damage for at least 1 year
- Rate your average daily pain as 4 to 9 out of 10, with little change over a week
- Not have used Journavx (another pain drug) within 30 days of starting the study
