Who can take part

  • You are an adult (18 years or older).
  • You had a first-time surgery to repair a hand tendon after an injury.
  • You can come back to the hospital for an ultrasound check-up after surgery.
  • You do not have a collagen disease (like lupus or scleroderma).
  • You do not have any hand deformities you were born with.
  • You did not have a broken bone in your hand at the same time as the tendon repair.
  • You are not having a repeat surgery or a planned staged repair.
  • You do not have an active infection or poor wound access at the surgery site.
