  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with locally advanced rectal cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • You have not had any previous treatment for rectal cancer (like chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery).
  • You are generally in good health, able to do light activities (ECOG score 0 or 1).
  • Your blood counts and liver/kidney function are within a certain range (your doctor will check this).
