Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have a type of throat cancer (oropharyngeal cancer) that is only on one side and has not crossed the middle of your throat.
- Your cancer has not spread to lymph nodes on the opposite side of your neck.
- You are planning to receive radiation therapy to both sides of your neck (with or without chemotherapy).
- You are in good general health (able to do your daily activities) and have adequate organ function.
- You have not had prior radiation to the head or neck, and you have not had a previous head or neck cancer.
- You have not had chemotherapy before this trial, and you are not currently in another treatment trial.
