  • You had a stroke caused by a clot or bleeding in the brain.
  • You can walk without help from another person (you may use a cane or walker).
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have no other nerve or brain condition that affects balance (like Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis).
  • You have no major heart, kidney, or liver problems that are not well controlled.
