Who can take part

  • Your child is between 6 months and 16 years old
  • Your child is scheduled for laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery
  • Your child has a physical status of ASA I or II (generally healthy or with mild illness)
  • Your child is not allergic to numbing medicines (local anesthetics)
  • Your child does not have a bleeding disorder
  • Your child has no skin infection or rash where the injection would be given
