Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 40.
  • You do not have type 1 or other types of diabetes.
  • You have not had heart failure, heart attack, or certain heart problems.
  • You do not have a history of cancer, hepatitis B or C, or HIV.
  • You have not had stomach surgery that could affect how pills are absorbed.
