Who can take part

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Your heart's pumping ability (ejection fraction) is 40% or less, measured by an ultrasound of the heart.
  • You have been hospitalized for heart failure or are being seen in clinic for heart failure.
  • You have not been diagnosed with heart failure before this episode.
  • You cannot be pregnant, because the scan uses a small amount of radiation.
  • You must not have severe asthma, COPD, or other conditions that make adenosine unsafe for you.
