  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have a spontaneous brain bleed (not caused by injury or other conditions) confirmed by a brain scan
  • Your symptoms started less than 6 hours ago
  • Your systolic blood pressure (top number) is above 140 mmHg when you arrive at the hospital
  • You do not have a terminal illness or very short life expectancy
