Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled for video-assisted lung surgery (like lobectomy) where one lung will be deflated during the procedure
  • You do not have severe heart or liver disease
  • You do not have advanced kidney disease (eGFR below 30 or on dialysis)
  • You are not expected to need more than 2 units of red blood cells during or right after surgery
