Who can take part
- You have a type of head and neck cancer called squamous cell carcinoma, either in the back of the mouth (oropharynx) or inside the mouth (oral cavity).
- The cancer has spread to at least one lymph node in your neck.
- You are scheduled to receive a specific chemotherapy drug (cisplatin) together with radiation therapy, without surgery.
- You have not had radiation therapy to the head or neck before.
- You have not had any other cancer (except a very early stage skin cancer) in the last 3 years.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
