Who can take part
- You are an adult (18 years or older).
- You have sepsis and low blood pressure that doesn't improve enough with fluids, so you need increasing doses of noradrenaline to keep your blood pressure up.
- Your diagnosis of sepsis was within the last 6 hours.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You do not have a history of G6PD deficiency (a genetic condition affecting red blood cells).
- You are not allergic to methylene blue, phenothiazines (a class of drugs), or food dyes.
- You have not taken linezolid (an antibiotic) in the last 14 days.
- You have not taken serotonergic psychiatric medications (some antidepressants) in the last 2 weeks, or fluoxetine in the last 5 weeks.
- You have not taken MAOIs (a type of antidepressant) like rasagiline or selegiline in the last 2 weeks.
