Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 85 years old.
- You have septic shock (a severe infection causing very low blood pressure despite fluids, and high lactic acid levels).
- You are on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation) and receiving a medicine called norepinephrine to keep your blood pressure up.
- You have a special monitoring catheter (PiCCO) in place to check your heart and blood flow.
- You are enrolled within 24 hours of your septic shock diagnosis or ICU admission.
- You do not have conditions like glaucoma, recent brain bleed, a blocked intestine, or an allergy to the study drug that would make it unsafe.
