Who can take part

  • Your spinal cord injury happened more than a year ago, is not getting worse, and the injury level is at T9 or above.
  • You must be on stable bladder medications for at least 3 months.
  • You cannot have an MRI for safety reasons? That would make you ineligible.
  • You can tolerate a mild electrical pulse on your ankle that makes your toes move, and you or someone you know can learn to use the stimulator at home.
  • You speak English or Spanish and are not pregnant or planning pregnancy within the study.
