- You are between 2 and 13 years old.
- You have a specific type of elbow fracture called a 'Gartland Type 3 supracondylar fracture' (a break near the elbow joint that is completely shifted out of place).
- The injury happened less than 7 days ago.
- The fracture is closed (the bone did not poke through the skin).
- There are no nerve or blood vessel injuries in the arm.
- There are no other broken bones in the same arm (like the forearm or upper arm), and the bone is not weak due to a disease.
