Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You are currently experiencing a major depressive episode as part of major depressive disorder, bipolar I disorder, or bipolar II disorder.
  • Your depression symptoms are at least moderate (score over 10 on a standard questionnaire).
  • You can travel to the clinic for study visits.
  • If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use an effective birth control method.
  • For bipolar I disorder, you must be on a stable dose of a mood stabilizer for at least one month before starting.
