Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You must have had Parkinson's disease for more than 3 years, and your symptoms must have started before you turned 50.
  • You must experience at least 3 hours of 'off' time (when medication effects wear off) each day.
  • You must have a stable Parkinson's medication plan for at least 4 weeks before the screening.
  • You must be able to stop taking blood thinners for at least 2 weeks before and after the surgery.
  • You cannot have had any prior brain surgery, including deep brain stimulation.
