Who can take part

  • You have severe leg pain at rest or sores/gangrene (Rutherford stage 4, 5, or 6)
  • The blocked artery is in your thigh (femoropopliteal) or below the knee (infrapopliteal)
  • The blockage has calcium that your doctor can see on an X-ray or CT scan
  • You are willing and able to give informed consent
  • You have not had a procedure on the same artery in the last 4 weeks
  • You are not scheduled for a leg amputation above the ankle
