Who can take part

  • You are 40 years or older.
  • You have had two or more major heart attacks, strokes, or serious blood vessel problems in the past.
  • Or you have had one major event plus at least two of these: diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, or other listed risk factors.
  • You do not have severe arm injuries or blood vessel problems that would make the arm cuff procedure unsafe.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to participate.
