Who can take part
- You are 40 years or older
- You have had a stroke or mini-stroke in the last 6 months caused by a narrowed carotid artery in your neck
- You are scheduled to have a stent placed in that artery
- Your symptoms before the stroke were not too disabling (able to do most daily activities)
- You do not have severe high blood pressure that is hard to control
- You do not have serious blood clotting problems or arm injuries that would prevent using a blood pressure cuff
