Who can take part

  • You had an acute ischemic stroke (confirmed by brain imaging) within the last 72 hours
  • Blood tests show signs of heart injury (elevated cardiac troponin) within 72 hours of stroke onset
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You did not have severe disability before your stroke (no pre-stroke paralysis or dependency)
  • You have no history of heart disease, heart surgery, or serious heart rhythm problems
  • Both arms are healthy with no injury, deformity, or vascular problems that would prevent the arm-pressure treatment
