This study looks at whether having your gallbladder removed a long time ago is linked to fatty liver disease. If you had your gallbladder taken out more than 5 years ago and meet other health criteria, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have a body mass index (BMI) over 25 (meaning you are overweight or obese).
  • You must not have chronic kidney failure, liver cirrhosis, or acute liver problems.
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You must have had your gallbladder removed at least 5 years ago.
