Who can take part
- You have fatty liver confirmed by ultrasound.
- You have at least one metabolic risk factor, such as being overweight, having high blood sugar, high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, or high blood pressure.
- You are willing to have a liver biopsy to check your liver tissue.
- You do not drink alcohol heavily (more than 30 grams/day for men, 20 grams/day for women).
- You do not have hepatitis B or C, a history of cancer, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, severe liver cirrhosis, or a liver transplant.
