Testing FoundationDRS Solo for diabetic foot ulcers

This study tests a new treatment called FoundationDRS Solo, which is placed directly on the wound, to see if it helps diabetic foot ulcers heal faster when used along with standard wound care. If you have a diabetic foot ulcer that has not healed well with regular treatments, this may be a good option for you.

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older and have type 1 or type 2 diabetes that requires medication (pills or insulin).
  • Your foot ulcer needs to be between the size of a dime and a credit card (1 to 20 square cm) and located on your foot or ankle.
  • The ulcer must have been present for at least 4 weeks and not shrunk by half or more in that time, even with standard care.
  • You must be willing to wear a special offloading device (like a boot or cast) during the study to take pressure off your foot.
  • You cannot have certain serious health problems, active infection in the wound, or be pregnant or planning pregnancy soon.
