Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a planned surgery and will stay in the hospital for at least 24 hours after.
  • You will be admitted to the Surgical High Dependency Unit (SHDU) as part of your care.
  • You are having a cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) or have had one.
  • You will have an arterial line placed for routine blood pressure monitoring.
  • You are 18 or older and able to give consent.
  • You do not have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device.
