Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have osteoporosis confirmed by a bone density (DEXA) scan (T-score of -2.5 or lower).
  • You must have a painful spine issue—like a fracture, instability, or a compression fracture—that has not gotten better with rest or medicine.
  • You cannot have a healed fracture that responds to non-surgical treatment.
  • You cannot have uncontrolled bleeding problems or an active infection in your spine.
  • Your spine deformity must be less than 30 degrees, and the collapsed vertebra must be less than 70% collapsed.
