Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 60 years old
- You have had a traumatic injury and are scheduled for lower limb orthopedic surgery (like fixing a broken leg) with a tourniquet and spinal anesthesia
- You are in generally good health aside from the injury (classified as ASA I-II)
- You do not have severe heart, liver, or kidney disease, and you are not in shock from blood loss
- You do not have allergies to the study drugs, a history of psychiatric illness or chronic sedative use, bradycardia (heart rate below 50), heart block, uncontrolled low blood pressure, fever, or use of active warming devices
