Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have an ASA physical status of II, III, or IV (meaning you have mild to severe health problems, but not end-stage illness)
  • You must be having a major abdominal tumor surgery (open or keyhole) that is expected to last more than 2 hours
  • Your surgical team plans to monitor your blood pressure through a small tube in your wrist (arterial line)
  • You must be able to understand and sign a consent form
