Who can take part

  • You have diabetes and your blood sugar is stable on your current treatment.
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) and abnormal blood vessels have been confirmed by special eye imaging.
  • You have not had full laser treatment (panretinal photocoagulation) in the past.
  • You have not received anti-VEGF injections or steroid eye treatments in the last 3 months.
  • You do not have severe cataracts, large amounts of bleeding in the eye, or other eye conditions that would make laser treatment unsafe or impossible.
