Who can take part

  • You have been newly diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (advanced diabetic eye disease).
  • You need panretinal photocoagulation (a laser treatment for the back of the eye).
  • You do not have a history of any corneal disease (problems with the clear front part of your eye).
  • You have not had any eye surgery before.
  • You do not have glaucoma (high eye pressure) or active inflammation inside your eye.
