Who can take part

  • You are 70 or older with severe aortic valve narrowing causing symptoms or weak heart pumping, OR you are 65-69 with high surgical risk or conditions that make open-heart surgery unsafe.
  • Your heart structure must be suitable for the minimally invasive valve procedure and you must be able to tolerate an ultrasound probe in your throat (transesophageal echo).
  • You must have signed consent and be willing to participate.
  • You cannot have certain serious heart or other conditions, such as recent heart attack, stroke, infection, or kidney failure needing dialysis.
  • You should not be in another drug or device study.
