Who can take part
- You must have a diagnosis of SCA6 (spinocerebellar ataxia type 6) from a movement disorder specialist and a positive genetic test confirming it.
- Your ataxia symptoms must be moderate to severe (score of 8 or higher on the SARA scale of ataxia).
- You must be able to walk, either on your own or with support (like a cane or walker).
- You must be 21 to 88 years old and able to understand and agree to the study procedures.
- You cannot have any metal implants, pacemakers, or prior brain stimulators.
- No other causes for your ataxia (like stroke, MS, or alcoholism) are allowed.
