Eptifibatide for stroke treatment 4.5 to 24 hours after symptoms

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You had an ischemic stroke and it has been 4.5 to 24 hours since you were last known to be well.
  • Your stroke symptoms are at least moderate (NIHSS score 4 or more) before the study drug.
  • After receiving standard clot-dissolving treatment (thrombolysis), you had no significant improvement, got worse, or had fluctuating symptoms within 24 hours.
  • You can receive the study drug within 60 minutes after finishing thrombolysis.
  • You do not have a known cause of stroke from a heart condition (like atrial fibrillation or recent heart attack), planned procedures to remove clots, active bleeding, or certain other medical conditions.
