Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 70 years old.
- Your overall health should be rated as ASA I, II, or III (this means you are generally healthy or have a well-controlled medical condition).
- You are scheduled for a single-level lumbar disc surgery (only one disc in your lower back) under general anesthesia.
- You agree to take part in the study and sign a consent form.
- You cannot have a bleeding disorder, take blood thinners, or be allergic to local anesthetics or opioid pain medicines.
- You must not have had prior lumbar spine surgery or used gabapentinoid or steroid medications in the last 3 weeks.
