Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You are scheduled for a single-level back surgery (like L4-L5 or L5-S1 disc surgery)
- You are in generally good health (ASA physical status I, II, or III)
- You are having surgery under general anesthesia (you will be asleep)
- You are not allergic to numbing medicines (local anesthetics)
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
